This is now too.  Miles misses the sun!

I ran across that old photo of Miles from earlier this year and it made me excited for SPRING!  I know the cubs are anxious too.  They tend to enjoy sitting outside staring up at the sky for much longer when it’s not pouring rain outside!

When we went to Mochi’s Vet Wed she was only missing one tooth.  Today she’s missing nearly all her lower front teeth and a couple on top.  It looks painful!!!  She’s a little cranky today too.

In case you missed it…

I wonder what those black dots are?  The vet said the brown parts on her canines are normal for baby teeth.  If they don’t fall out on their own by her spay date Feb 25, the doc will have to extract them to prevent related dental disease!  We’ll be providing her with lots of hard toys to chew on to help them fall out naturally.

Miles has eluded the intent of the Cub’s new Dental Diet which was supposed to be a sprinkling of the Extra Large Crunchy Dental Kibbles with their normal food intake.  He kicked off Dental Diet Day One by raiding every food bowl in the house (three), sniffing out the kibbles and eating them ALL!  At this rate poor Timber will get NO Dental Kibbles and her plaque will be out of control.  Meanwhile Miles will be extra clean and pot bellied!   (They make it really tasty and rich to increase appeal… they’re huge kibbles!  Also the color reminds me of a Cheeto.)

Wrong flavor – my favorite flavor is Twenty Pounds!!

Miles and Timber had their annual physicals at Island Cats Vet this morning.   Here are some highlights:

1. Miles scratches the BeJesus out of me and escapes his Sherpa bag four times before we even leave the house.

2. Miles and Timber sing a tragic duet on the way to the Vet.  Timber’s plaintive cries sound cheerful in comparison to Miles who, like a Prima Donna has a mastery of projection, register, volume and puts forth no small amount of effort.  He can clearly enunciate half a dozen or more consonants, all the vowels and quite a few exotic phones that I can’t even represent by any combination of the English alphabet.

3. We arrive and they both clam up.  The vet tech remarks to Dr. Marshall, “I’ve never heard such a quiet Bengal come through our office before!”

4.  Miles gets a clean bill of health and a Rabies booster and immediately volunteers to ply his tricks for the staff for more treats.

5.  Timber gets her exam and Rabies booster – Miles gets up onto exam table to “help out” by sniffing her bouquet, the vet, the nurse and the syringe… OK no treats here.  Please proceed.

By the end of the visit I was very proud of all three Cubs who in the past two days have been into their vets for routine check ups and shots and are thankfully all robust, trim, bright eyed AND courteous!  Mom and Dad are so very lucky!!

This is the first time in weeks these two have been allowed to have a full out smack down since it first began to appear as though rough housing with Brother Miles was causing Mochi’s choo-choo to jump the track into crazyville.  She seems to be doing a lot better now and they were both very good today so I let them have some fun… it all started when Miles decided to gut a Norstrom bag full of tissue paper:

They both weigh about 12 lbs each now…  Miles still has maybe a pound on Mochi but not for long!

Ughhh…

They are having “naked time” because Mochi’s collar is filthy and Miles is safer when she can’t latch onto his collar.

Gaaaaahhhh!! Don’t worry – Mochi’s loving EVERY minute of this!!   Miles… ?  Hard to tell!

Ahhhh… much better!  This is why The Animal + The Ball Dyson is the sixth member of the family!!  Both of the Cubs are out like lights right now and we probably won’t see them awake again until 9AM tomorrow morning!!

I caught Mochi at 6 AM tucking herself back into bed after breakkers!  Here she is singing the blues.

“I don’t wanna go to school,

Fast forward to 3:30 – when I picked her up from day care she was a happy little Shiba Mud Cake (until she had to be rinsed and wrung dry for the ride home : )  I will try to get a pic of her after day care Thursday; the amount of mud she collected was unbelievable!!  I’m 100% sure it will still be raining on Thursday too.

Can you find all three Cubs?  Miles found You already because he’s a bullet to the sound of the flash popping up…  Looks like there is a vacancy in Timber’s first floor condo if you want to join us for a nap!  She won’t mind, she prefers a downy couch cushion.

This sighting from last night is so rare that I think this has only happened ONCE in three years.  It is unclear whether this is because:

A.  Their powerful love of Ben’s butt exceeds both Timber’s disdain for Miles and Mile’s inscrutable urges to clobber Timber… Ben sat there all day watching football and this was his analysis.

B. They are  forming a mutually beneficial faction against Mochi, possibly called MERD! – Mochi Eating Righteous Dictators! … just my thought.

UPDATE – Ben thinks maybe it’s MERDE – Mochi Eats Really Dirty Excrement.  I think I raised them better than that!  Better to have bad spelling than bad manners .’ )

C.  Maybe this is the behavior they use to forecast a natural disaster… in which case get ready for the earthquake of the century!!

SIDE NOTE:  I think it is easier to appreciate Timberhaazy in black and white because in color her specks and freckles are overwhelmed by her beautiful silky black background.  This leads me to expounds on my theory about why black pets are difficult to adopt out and chronically under appreciated, it is because their features are almost impossible to see!

Miles is battling to save Unknown Cat from he Giant Yarn Squid Tentaclees… apparently so he can eat the cat himself!
